Elder James Cross Jr., the fourth child born to the late Dr. James Cross Sr. and Sister Almeather Cross is the grandson of the founder, Bishop Moses Cross Sr. He is married to Missionary Chinell Cross and has one daughter and grandson.

On July 29, 2008, he was ordained under the leadership of James E. Washington, Prelate of the 5th Illinois West Jurisdiction. Upon the death of his father, he was installed as the pastor of New Cross Temple Church of God in Christ.

Additionally, he serves as the District YPWW President and Assistant Superintendent of the New Jerusalem District.
