    2016 Has Been Amazing!

This year has been amazing.  The 75th Anniversary was great!  I thank God for everyone that played a part in making our celebration a success.  We are now at the end of the year and going into the holiday season.  During this season it is important to remember a few things.

First, we have to remember those less fortunate than ourselves.  It’s always easy to think of ourselves, but to give of ourselves is a different story.  Sometimes selfishness takes over and makes it hard to share our blessings with others.  Acts 20:35 says “I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Second, we must remember to be grateful.  Never take for granted what you have or use what you don’t have as a reason to feel bad.  No matter what the situation is, there is always someone better off and always someone worse off than you.  1 Thessalonians 5:18 says “in everything give thanks: for this is will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

Third, we have to remember that we can trust God and His word.  Even though the current situation may seem hopeless we have to trust God’s plan for our lives.  Not only do we want the best for our lives, but so does God.  He says in 3 John 2 “Behold I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospers.”  Also in Jeremiah 29:11-12 it says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end,  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.”  The Bible says the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.  It also says that God will never leave or forsake us.

While holidays can be very joyous for some it can also be a time of sadness and loneliness for others.  We want to show God’s love one to another and spread good tidings of great joy.   So as we go through this holiday season I’ll say “trust God and know that you are not alone.  God is with you.  He loves you and so do I.”

    Yours in Christ
